An unearthed time capsule consisting of footage of the maker's youthful self – an “exquisite corpse” with nature as collaborator. Bourque buried random out-takes from her first three films (all staged productions dealing with her family) in the backyard of her ancestral home (adjoining the grounds of a former cemetery) with the ambivalent intentions of both safe-keeping and unloading them (she was relocating). Upon examining the footage five years later she found that the material contained images of herself captured during the making of her first film. That discovery seemed handed over like a gift and prompted the making of this film, a metaphysical pas-de-deux in which decay undermines the image and in the process engenders a transmutation.

Comedy about the horrors of shooting a low budget feature in modern day Miami and everything that that can possible go wrong on set. The story is told through the eyes of Alex Gonzalez, a pothead who is kidnapped by his best friend Chris during a minor drug transaction and forced to be a PA on the set of an ultra low budget movie. Alex has no idea what a PA does or what it takes to make a movie but he has common sense, which is lacking heavily on this set. Chris promises Alex that he'll drive him home as soon as they get the first shot completed; but for this feature, getting anything in the can is a major task.

Christine looks after her ailing mother and toils in a provincial Austrian post office in the years just after the Great War. One afternoon, as she is dozing among the official forms and stamps, a telegraph arrives addressed to her. It is from her rich aunt, who lives in America and writes requesting that Christine join her and her husband in a Swiss Alpine resort. After a dizzying train ride, Christine finds herself at the top of the world, enjoying a life of privilege that she had never imagined. But Christine’s aunt drops her as abruptly as she picked her up, and soon the young woman is back at the provincial post office, consumed with disappointment and bitterness. Then she meets Ferdinand, a wounded but eloquent war veteran who is able to give voice to the disaffection of his generation. Christine’s and Ferdinand’s lives spiral downward, before Ferdinand comes up with a plan which will be either their salvation or their doom.

However, in China, these films faced restrictions and were unable to be screened in theaters due to a lack of official approval. This documentary conducts interviews with these representative film directors of that era. Through the lens, these directors express their personal journeys in engaging in the art of filmmaking within a forbidden environment.
