Through a secret program called the Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO), there was a concerted effort to subvert the will of the people to avoid the rise "of a Black Messiah" that would mobilize the African-American community into a meaningful political force. This documentary establishes historical perspective on the measures initiated by J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI which aimed to discredit black political figures and forces of the late 1960's and early 1970's. Combining declassified documents, interviews, rare footage and exhaustive research, it investigates the government's role in the assassinations of Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, and Martin Luther King Jr. Were the murders the result of this concerted effort to avoid "a Black Messiah"?

A lone man sits in a darkened room, bathed only in the cold, flickering glow of a television. As he watches, the images on the screen blur and distort, merging with shadows that creep across the walls. For 19 years, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek has toured solo and as front man of both Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon. Until now, he has never given filmakers access into his life on the road. Filmed during portions of Mark Kozelek s European and North American tours of 2010 and 2011, this is a rare glimpse into Mark s backstage areas and passenger seat travels. Shot in black and white, this dynamic film captures the fast paced travel of a singer on a solo-acoustic journey, giving viewers an inspirational look at its high points, and also a stark view of its mundane realities. Footage includes an intimate version of 'Katy Song' performed at Sant'Ambrogio Church in Bologna, a mesmerizing 'Half Moon Bay' performed in Switzerland, and a flamenco-flourished Third and Seneca' filmed in a Copenhagen hotel room. . When the inland revenue gets an angry mistress's letter exposing a man named Toby as a tax cheat, they quietly put pressure on him. Toby panics, and hires an unscrupulous lawyer named Elvin, but he has a hard time taking his advice.

During an evening meeting of the Young Creative Workshop Encounters (held December 1971 in Elbląg, Poland), an argument divided the group of artists. Przemysław Kwiek suggested continuing the debate the following day through a conversation of “visual tactics” between two teams who each had 1.5m long sticks as well as white and red canvas. Each team watched as the other made a move, and fourteen were made in total over three hours. Documented through photographs and text, Kweik and Kulik presented this material as a narrated slideshow in the 1970s-80s, and in 2006 recreated this in the form of a digital video.
