Like many happy people, Bruno Hamel is leading an uneventful life until one afternoon, when his daughter is raped and murdered. When the murderer is arrested, a terrible project germinates in Bruno's darkened mind. He plans to capture the "monster" and make him pay for his crime.

Two segments make up this short film. The first portion called “The French” has two men taste testing some delicious wine, and the other, titled “The Gauls”, is of men playing rugby. This short by Werner Herzog is part of the “The French as Seen By…” series. It was initiated and sponsored by the newspaper Le Figaro, as part of the 1988 celebration of the tenth anniversary of its magazine section.

Dickinsonia, a 550-million-year-old oceanic species, has left very few fossils. Its soft, skeleton-free body has left almost no trace of its existence, leaving scientific thought in doubt. Like the dissolution of this ancestral life form, our oldest memories, blurred and embedded in the depths of our consciousness, seem to leave only vague traces. Unexplained ripples that run through our tissues, shaking us at times. The film is intended to be a place of intimate listening which, by allowing us to see and hear subtle presences and vibrations, invites us to pay particular attention to the fragments of history that constitute us, especially those we have wished to forget.

The adventure takes them from their home in Marlinspike Hall (Moulinsart), a fictional mansion that is presumably in Belgium, to Spain, where Calculus and another scientist are kidnapped.

The Little Kings is about a group of assertive, uninhibited, even reckless students at the top of the school social pyramid, often more focused on their own needs than those of the community, until one day a collateral victim of their carelessness decides to play a vigilante. The prime targets for their downfall are the leaders of the group, the two popular and privileged best friends, Julep and Adaboy. The first is the beloved captain of his hockey team, the second is the star of skating team. Around them revolve their friends, who will also bear the brunt of this vigilante.

In 1942, the young Jewish girl Misha, her Russian mother Gerusha and her German father Reuven hide from the Germans in a small house in Ardennes, Belgium. Misha is very connected to her mother that advises her that if one day a person comes to her saying "love of my life", she would follow him or her without any question. When her parents are captured by the Nazis, Misha is delivered to a German family and the abusive matriarch gives a bad treatment to the girl. However, she finds support in the family of Ernest and his deranged wife Marthe that supplies groceries to foster family. Misha loves Ernest's dogs and the old man gives a compass to her and tells that her parents have been sent to East to forced labor. When the old couple is denounced for sheltering the girl and arrested by the Germans, Misha flees through the woods heading east. Along her journey seeking out her parents...
