Madrid, early twentieth century. Julieta and Alberto are a couple who have been married for several years, but who are still as much in love as the first day. He is the half-orange she always wanted, and their bond of union is growing stronger. One day, Alberto, in the fear of losing her, decides to start writing to his beloved several letters of love under the pseudonym of 'Count of Rocambole'. The intention is to be more relaxed when trying the love and fidelity of Juliet. The problems start when she begins to fall in love little by little with that foreigner who claims to be mad about her.

Created by the young but obviously ambitious French production company Lux Film, founded just two years before by pioneer Henri Joly. The film was released in the United States with the title Love and Fortune, in a version which sought to mellow the character of the male protagonist, at least judging by the synopses in the period press: the American Ascanio was always in love with Graziella, and he only lets himself think of wealth in his dreams.

Meanwhile, we discover Hourya who lives with her husband, Adel, a quiet man who has accepted her past but forbids her of taking part in any political activity. Hourya who was raped in prison after Mohamed's arrest, believes that Mohamed has died under torture and to save her own life, she accepted to get married to Adel whom she does not love.

Libuse is a divorcee who owns a dog hotel and would much rather spend her time with her dogs than stepping back into the dating pool.

This ‘streamlined comedy' (as it was advertised) is called Three Love Affairs, but the main action is centred on the lovers played by Ting Ying and Cheung Yee. In order to make themselves more appealing, the factory girl pretends to be the daughter of a successful businessman, while the chauffeur pretends to be from a wealthy family. Their relationship is fraught with worry and anxiety, because they are confused about their own identities, and have not yet come to terms with themselves and their lives. With the support of the Manufacturers' Association, the film was shot on location at an actual factory, evidencing a prosperous period in Hong Kong's industrial history.
