The forgotten case of the arson of an ancestral tower in Peloponnese, Greece, comes to light with the discovery of a manuscript. The interreligious romance between Eleni and Elmaz-aga, close to the 1821 uprising against the Ottomans, and a parental curse, haunt the history of the family and of the village alike. The folk song of Eleni leads to the awakening of a past that resembles a fairytale.

The second story of “Two Stories” from Ann Hui and Yim Ho’s “ICAC” series (1978)

The documentary of a potter who struggled with fire for his entire life to make a singular piece of crockery and his daughter who developed her own power to inherit the fire from her father. The potter wishes to meet the misfortunate bowl “Maksabal,” which became a national treasure of Japan. On the other hand, his daughter wants the father’s fire. Would their desire be fulfilled?

The film is dedicated to the events of the summer of 2021 – extinguishing fires in Yakutia. The focus is on rescuers, volunteers and residents of villages engulfed in fire, who are fighting the elements, protecting their homes and lives from fire. The real picture of forest fires turns out to be much more impressive than all our ideas about them.

During the early Ming Dynasty, political unrest grips the empire. Amid the chaos, imperial forces escort Lady Mei out of Nanjing to avoid danger. As assassins pursue her, Lady Mei takes refuge in a village, where she and the villagers band together to defend their home from invaders. Their bravery leads to a fierce struggle for survival and resistance against external threats.

Georgi Simov is a thief and an alcoholic. The police are looking for him. Simov squanders the stolen money in the pubs, while his wife and child lead a wretched life. The mother sends the little girl to ask her father for some money. Drunk, Simov chases the child away. The girl is injured in a car accident. The mother gets a divorce. The police find Simov, but he manages to escape. Simov is about to rob an unsuspecting passerby. He hears the sirens of the fire brigade and discovers that his home is on fire. In the blaze is his child. He rushes into the flames and saves his daughter. At this moment, the police seize him. After three years in a prison, Simov is set free. He comes across his daughter in a church. The two go to the sick mother. Simov repents his past. The whole family is happy.

The film was filmed in Bibi-Heybat, a suburb of Baku (now the capital of Azerbaijan), during a fire at the Bibi-Heybat oil field. The film was shot on 35mm film by the Lumiere brothers in 1898. On August 2 of the same year, a demonstration of Alexander Michon's program took place, which included the film "Fire at an oil fountain in Bibiheybat".

Vine, a disillusioned demon, secretly lives with others of his kind in the world of humans sustained by their misery. Forced into a choice to save his brethren or an innocent human girl, the delicate balance between human and demon kind is threatened, which may result in war.

The fourth film in the Kanto Street Peddlers series. The protagonist, played by Bunta Sugawara sides with female boss Yumiko Nogawa to fight evil Hiroshi Nawa, who at one point employs rebellious young hood Tsunehiko Watase and Kagawa. Tatsuo Umemiya also shows up as a cool, leather jacket gunman who gains Sugawara’s respect despite playing for the opposing team. What eventually keeps this film from being as good as the first is the loose script that doesn’t really tie all the fun stuff into a coherent package. Much is forgiven however when the last 20 minutes arrives with several visually striking set pieces (including one death scene stylized to the point of ridiculousness) and a terrific final massacre. This was Suzuki’s last contribution to the series; the fifth and final picture would be helmed by Takashi Harada.
