A play by King James VI of Scotland, re-imagined in ancient Athens.
This film is the chronicle of an imaginary, symbolic cruise to discover Europe, from the age of Greek mythology to the present day. Tracing the story from the enthusiasm of the founding fathers at the end of the Second World War to its present difficulties, the ship EUROPE battles hell and high water to affirm and fight for its existence.
This film tells a story of a girl, whose world falls apart, sinks into madness and lost into herself into an imaginary world, when her lover left her.
Gaston Rébuffat is part of the history of mountaineering. Marseillais prodigy, high mountain guide of the Chamonix guide company and famous for the ascent of the most famous north faces: some are 1st rehearsals, others 1st French or 1st as a guide. Filmed by Georges Tairraz, this masterpiece released in 1955 reveals the beauty of effort and the pleasure of sharing in the mountains. Apart from the feat, the mountains are not there to satisfy egocentric ambitions. A classic !
Serge Gainsbourg: Some Other News from the Stars] Directed by Serge Gainsbourg, Jean-Christophe Averty, and more 1958-1989 This release provides a glimpse of Gainsbourg's professional life from the period spanning 1958 to two years before his death in 1991. Many of the contents overlap with the (now out-of-print?) De Gainsbourg à Gainsbarre release (the title translates as From Gainsbourg to Gainsbarre, a reference to the alter-ego developed on his 1981 record Mauvaises nouvelles des étoiles -- Bad News from the Stars -- referenced by the title of this DVD), but everything has now been cleaned up as much as was possible given the varying states of the film and video sources included here. The quality is good overall, image is quite consistent (often lovingly un-restored), sound is superb. The "I said, I want to fuck her" Whitney Houston clip has not been collected here. It can be found rather easily on the Web, albeit sans Dolby 5.1.
Fifth instalment of the franchise.
The Teatro alla Scala (Milano, Italy) backstage and the artists in rehearsal for the New Year ballets and celebrations.
Often described as the oldest of the sciences, astronomy is today one of the most modern and dynamic. In the most important observatories in the world, in Chile, Hawaii and the Canary Islands, a new generation of astronomers, engineers and technicians are writing the next chapter of our knowledge of the Universe. This documentary takes us to meet these "star people" to discover what makes their hearts beat, but also to understand how astronomy decrypts our past and shapes our future.

An incredible travel through space and time between the walls of the Paris Observatory, which is celebrating its 350th birthday. Place of discoveries such as speed of light or Neptune’s existence, it is still today one of the oldest operating observatories and the greatest hub in the world for astronomy and astrophysics researches, second only to Harvard.
A tribute to Marie-Soleil Tougas and Jean-Claude Lauzon, 25 years after their tragic accident.
