After delivery of a parcel, on leaving a restaurant, hotel or train, or following an exchange with the customer service department of your telephone operator, the same request: to rate. On a scale from 0 to 10, embellished with colors, or by awarding pretty, playful little stars. A simple, mechanical and painless action for the rater. But behind this harmless gesture lies a brutal management system, operated directly by the customer, without their knowledge. Even more worrying: without knowing it, we are all being rated, to feed the algorithms of opaque companies that claim to be able to predict the future. The film questions this invasion of rating systems, and the consequences of this practice for our individual realities and collective freedoms.

In an alternative Quebec, private clinics offer partial brainwashing treatment to remedy post-traumatic shock. Charlotte Roy, a young woman who lost a loved one in a work accident, meets Doctor Dufour to make an appointment to receive this treatment, 24 hours later. She hides it as best she can from her loved ones, who are beginning to worry about her. Between the suspicions of her friend Sarah, the insistence of her mother and her own doubts, Charlotte navigates through these final hours which, she hopes, will be the last of a long year of suffering.

In an outlying district of Nyon, a self-managed after-school centre offers children an island of freedom. Founded by an association of women volunteers, this atypical centre has survived 30 years of urban and social change in the district and continues to offer a rare, idealistic and joyfully disorganised space. The film will be screened as a Relaxed session.

As for Jacky, he watches over everyone. / A short film written and performed by the residents and healthcare staff of the Brocéliande nursing home in Loudéac, and filmed with the 1st-year students from the Cinema and Audiovisual course at Saint-Joseph high school, along with Hervé-Jacques Passard (director of photography). The film is the culmination of a workshop co-led by Nicole Lucia (Broceliande nursing home activity coordinator) and Bénédicte Pagnot (director).
