Meet the match made in pop heaven, when the singer-songwriter and the 1960s hitmaking composer collaborated on the 1998 album Painted From Memory, featuring the GRAMMY Award-winning song “I Still Have That Other Girl.” Their magical sessions were captured in this special episode of Sessions at West 54th, hosted by David Byrne.

A magnificent outdoor evening was made simply by watching Elvis and Emmylou singing together into a single microphone as they shifted back and forth in a bluegrass singing style, we felt nearly transported. You could virtually hear a pin drop, as the crowd of 6,000 were hushed by Elvis and Emmylou's near perfect harmonies.

PART OF: Elvis Presley – '68 Comeback Special (50th Anniversary Edition) is the definitive chronicle of one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll performances ever televised: Elvis Presley at the peak of his powers. For the first time ever, all previously-released audio and newly-restored video from the taping of the special is available in one package – including unused performances and studio outtakes that spotlight the real Elvis. The package contains an entire disc showcasing the legendary sessions for the special recorded with Elvis and the Wrecking Crew. This 5CD, 2 Blu-ray disc deluxe package also includes an 80-page book featuring rare photographs and ephemera and a new oral history on the special, crafted from interviews conducted for Thom Zimny’s 2018 documentary, Elvis Presley: The Searcher. The newly-restored Blu-ray video was also overseen by Zimny.

Elvis Presley's first year (March '56 to January '57) on TV is spotlighted on "From the Waist Up," the third of three Elvis: The Great Performances DVDs. And what a time it was, as his appearances on the Dorsey Brothers, Milton Berle, Steve Allen, and especially Ed Sullivan shows electrified an ever-growing national audience with tunes ranging from the lascivious "Baby, Let's Play House" to the reverent "Peace in the Valley." Written by Presley biographer Peter Guralnick (Last Train to Memphis) and narrated by U2's Bono, volume 3 is the most documentary-like of the three discs; some basic history is provided (the Sun Records years, the arrival of Col. Tom Parker, etc.), most of which will be old hat to Presley aficionados. Unfortunately, it's also the only disc that truncates some of the King's performances, but the three straight complete songs from the '57 Sullivan show that end the program help make up for that. --Sam Graham

You'll also see the amazing duet with Frank Sinatra on the 1960 Frank Sinatra "Welcome Home Elvis" show.

But first the Elvis Clone must face-off against the Copyright Cops and every action hero that MGM can throw his way.
