For the last twelve years, Sensation has been building its international tour, visiting thirteen countries in 2011. Each year Sensation Introduces a new show in which the crowd is engaged through the white dress code. The premiere show of Sensation Amsterdam 2011 takes the audience on a spiritual journey to awakening. Raising the excitement step by step through seven intense experiences. Inspiring visitors to focus on the now, guiding them to a collective awareness of its beauty. Presenting them with their own innerspace.

The DVD and CD were recorded over two nights at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Two studio recordings, "Forever" and "Purifier" are included on the album. Singer Ed Kowalczyk said of them, "Both songs kind of have this urgency about them, where we almost missed our deadlines. You can feel the urgency and the energy of the session in the songs" Despite the fact that the band was on the verge of breaking up, guitarist Chad Taylor was pleased with the DVD. "When I saw the magic that was on camera, I was overcome by emotion. We had documented the energy and efforts of a 20-year career together." However, the long-standing tensions between lead singer Ed Kowalczyk and the other three band members were boiling over. "When the album artwork showed up with Chad, Patrick and I in black and white and Ed in color it shot pain through my veins."

Johan van der Keuken: 'We kept the ends of a lot of shots in Amsterdam Global Village: the camera leaves the subject and pans to the sound woman, who quickly taps the microphone. These taps later in the cutting become the references for synchronising picture and sound. This film is the rhythmic sequence of these taps, in which something of a story can be seen.

Benny (Joe Maruzzo) and his girlfriend Alma (Sylvia Kristel) own a nightclub in the red light district of Amsterdam. Everything’s going well until Charley (Ellen ten Damme) starts working in the club.

The DVD contains all films Ed van der Elsken has made in Amsterdam as a streetphotographer and at home in the Koningsstraat, plus two short documentaries about Van der Elsken. "I am far away on a distant journey through my own city", filmmaker Johan van der Keuken says at the end of his four-hour portrait of Amsterdam. The city is presented as a place where people from all corners of the world live, who all exert their cultural influence on the life in the city. With a motor courier as his central figure, the filmmaker introduces the audience to birds of different feathers. We see diverse cultural expressions, like the house scene, the entry of St. Nicholas and a Ghanese mourning ritual. The binding factor in the film is the concept of 'travelling', in other words Amsterdam as a global village. The camera travels through the film in three ways: over land, over water (canals) and through the air.

Kitty and Inge are two sisters from Amsterdam who are on holiday in Limburg. During their stay they hear about a mysterious criminal on the loose named "the black rider" on the radio. To their surprise, they encounter a man dressed in black walking around in the forest...

Drummel is an accountant who gets acquainted with the Amsterdam nightlife. He and his secretary Mary are suspected for having committed theft.
