Futurmania is a short from House of Mouse starring Ludwig Von Drake and featuring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, with cameo appearances by Minnie Mouse and Huey, Dewey and Louie. The genius Ludwig Von Drake takes Mickey, Donald and Goofy to his lab and gives them a symposium on the appliances of the future. As always, things don't always go as planned.

Although Szomjas works from ethnographic records and archival material, it is hardly surprising that this violent, primitivist film would be more popular with Hungarian audiences than critics. Replete with young guns, crooked sheriffs, tavern brawlers and hardbitten plug-uglies, this widescreen film is strikingly shot by Elémer Ragályi (cinematographer for most of Gyula Gazdag’s films)—a feast of loamy, autumnal colors.
