This horror short, created by myself and Mary Kuryla, was done for a three-day film contest. Our assigned theme was "puppet or clown." Mary came up with the concept and banged out a rough script in a couple of hours. It was shot it in a day and a half, thanks to the endurance of our DP, Jack Farrell. We didn't win any big prizes but we had a tremendous amount of fun. (Later, I re-edited the piece, gave it a spit-polish.) Many thanks to the actors, assistants, and all involved who pitched in on very short notice and gave it their all!

“High Tail” is a narrative story about a dog who has had enough of living with his owners and, in a burst of spontaneity, decides to move out and start his life in the big city. However, his green optimism is quickly crushed as he realizes the big city and adult life aren’t quite living up to his expectations.

The star of the festival has been, once again, its unbeatable line-up: in addition to Elton John's end-of-party, we will attend concerts by Arctic Monkeys, Lana del Rey, Guns N' Roses and Lizzo. An endless list of established and emerging artists. Once again, the best music on the international scene has gathered in England and we are witnesses of it.

High Class tells the stories of the women who are coerced into Las Vegas' booming escort industry, and how they are controlled by a hidden system of violence and corruption.

In 1997-1998, many Bedouin Palestinian refugees living under Israeli Occupation were forcibly displaced by Israel to a garbage dump. During that entire period, the Oslo Peace Process was ongoing, with 'high hopes' for peace, while a plan existed to forcibly displace many Bedouin from Jerusalem and Ramallah. This calls into question Israel's commitment to peace, its willingness to allow a viable Palestinian state to come into existence, and its attitudes towards Palestinians generally. HIGH HOPES (with "High Hopes" as its soundtrack, donated by Pink Floyd), is made from AP/BBC archive material of the 1997-1998 displacements and the parallel expansion of Ma'ale Adumim settlement. The situation has grown worse during the current period, when talks again took place, as Israel both expanded settlements and formulated plans for the mass displacement of some 30,000 Bedouin Palestinian herders.

The film’s voice-over sound track includes interviews with family, friends and colleagues discussing their own past work experiences. These voices are accompanied by personal reflections of Minty’s time working in resort housekeeping, and raises questions about precarious work, both its place in the economy, and what it means for the future of work.
