Fay, who has been blind from her birth, has a wonderful imagination, even the town and its sordid inhabitants become invested with romance and take their part in the stories of adventures that her father reads to her.

The daughter of a wealthy man imagined she was deeply in love with her father's chauffeur, and demanded she be allowed to marry him. When her father very properly and angrily refused, the young woman was urged by her suitor to elope with him and very foolishly consented. In a short time her romance was utterly dispelled.

Gambling addict Neil Davis' life hits rock bottom after being arrested for purse-snatching and being rejected by his family. Out of desperation, he decides to bet the little money he has left on a horse race. On race day, a conversation with a stranger convinces Neil to bet his last money on a long-shot horse. Will Neil, an underdog himself, succeed in betting against all odds? One way or another, this is going to be a life-changing day for him.

The film explores the role of photography, since its rudimentary beginnings in the 1840s, in shaping the identity, aspirations, and social emergence of African Americans from slavery to the present. The dramatic arch is developed as a visual narrative that flows through the past 160 years to reveal black photography as an instrument for social change, an African American point-of-view on American history, and a particularized aesthetic vision.

A Dark Love Story For Clowns is a hybrid of an African ritual, an autobiographical anecdote, and a modern riff of a post-abolitionist short story by William Faulkner.

Howard (a puppet) has an existential crisis and nervous breakdown when he, and only he, can see his puppeteer... a featureless, humanoid shape that always looms over him, that he calls his 'Dark Companion'. His relationship with his wife and friends quickly breakdown, when no one believes him, forcing Howard to take drastic measures.

DANCING IN THE DARK explores gay and lesbian lives in Australia through the 20 year history of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Through the eyes of the '78ers', a group who participated in the first Mardi Gras, DANCING IN THE DARK reveals very personal yet fascinating stories as well as the '78ers' experience during the first, now historic, Mardi Gras.

Arguably Russia’s most famous folk song, Dark Eyes has captured hearts around the world for the past 100 years. This portrait explores the song’s somewhat controversial history, its musical versatility and its cultural relevance. Performances by Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Liberace, a 13-piece orchestra and a Russian folk group make it clear why Dark Eyes has stood the test of time.

An act of violence resonates through the night, touching upon the lives of different characters, who otherwise would not necessarily exist in each other’s daily narrative. The story is seen through the self contained world of seven characters as they drift along the otherwise mundane night meandering around the graphical symmetry of a ‘modern’ city.
