On another planet in the distant past, a Gelfling embarks on a quest to find the missing shard of a magical crystal and restore order to his world, before the grotesque race of Skeksis find and use the crystal for evil.

"Out of disk space. Subscribe. Free up space. You don't have enough tokens. Low battery." The persistent, intrusive messages that we know from mobile devices are repeated in the animation's heroine - only here they refer to the virtual cloud in which her memories are stored.
