Rwanda was once a country of peace, beauty and fabulous wildlife. Romain Baertsoen arrived there in 1966 and started to film two of Rwanda's secrets, the Bahima tribe and rare mountain gorillas. The Rwandan Civil War shattered the peace in 1994, as warring factions pillaged towns and plundered the forests. Remarkably, the gorillas survived, but the world around them is increasingly uncertain.

This film is a visual representation of a poem by Shilok Shivanya. The film and the poem explores Shilok's angst as she battles indifference and ridicule at home and society at large.

In this film writer/director Peter Tammer explores the FEAR OF THE DARK through the person of the actor Robert Ratti, holding together the hopes and fears of the performer who is facing survival on a day-to-day basis for the opportunity to work in the future. This visual fantasy confronts a level of consciousness we've all touched, reminding us that we were not alone in the dark, facing a reality we dare not imagine.
