After living 45 years in Germany, the Turkish Hüseyin Yilmaz, seventy, announces to his family that he has bought a house in Turkey and they should return to make the necessary reforms. The idea is unwelcome and causes very heated discussions. In addition, Canan, a granddaughter of Hüseyin, announces she is pregnant and the father is her English boyfriend, and no one knew anything.

The Berlin physiotherapist Felicitas Büchner wants to work with her married colleague and lover dr. Wolfgang Schlegel open his own practice in Berlin. But she needs money for that. With the unexpected inheritance of a farm in Bavaria moves for Felicitas the realization of their dream within reach. Wolfgang urges her to sell the estate as quickly as possible and to return from the cow village to Berlin - but Felicitas is impressed by her old home and gradually realizes that she has inherited a responsibility with the court of her favorite uncle.

Friedrich (Uwe Bohm) manages to escape from East Germany to the West in the 1950s. On his arrival, he is greeted with the words Herzlich Willkommen, or "cordial, heartfelt welcome." However, once he finds employment, what he experiences is anything but a cordial welcome at his new job, where he is a teacher/counselor for "wayward children" located in a former castle. The institution is headed by a former Nazi who runs it with the help of the more criminal, bullying boys. Despite these obstacles, Friedrich manages to establish a rapport with a boy who wants to go "straight," and also begins to have an affair with an attractive female teacher at the school.

The attractive Moni works as a photo reporter at the local newspaper of her small hometown Lüsgraf. One day, when the bricks-and-mortar shakers, makers of electric shavers and the village's biggest employer, face bankruptcy, the male workforce occupies the factory to prevent them from selling to a dubious investor. In the meantime, Moni and her friends have come up with a different plan to save the company: Instead of making old-fashioned razors, the squatters should rather switch to the production of modern massage sticks! Now the ladies have to make their plan only the Lüsgrafer men tasty ...
