On the edge of the vast Sahara desert, citizens snuck out of the city of Timbuktu and took to the wilderness. They buried chests in the desert sand, hid them in caves, and sealed them in secret rooms. Inside these chests was a treasure more valuable than gold: the city’s ancient books. Why were they hiding these priceless manuscripts? Elizabeth Cox digs into the literary tradition of Timbuktu.

We learn about the life of one very unique Indian woman, through the eyes of a British documentary crew.

I fixed my camera onto the trees around my lower Queen Anne area home in Seattle from my deck. I then backed up the film to beginning and re-exposed the film from another angle. I passed my hand in front of the lens during the second exposure to blend the two images together. The sound for this film was created from industrial sounds I recorded also in the same area and manipulated with effects.

"Three Scenes with Ingmar Bergman" is quite an interesting documentary which is basically a sequence of interviews with Ingmar Bergman where Bergman himself talks about his life and work, beginning with his birth and childhood, relationship with his parents, particularly with his father, which had influence on his work later. Then he talks about how he became writer and than director at Film Studious in Stokholm and about the movies he made during this period. Then he describes how he discovered the island of Faro and come to live and work there later. Particularly interesting because of it's autobiographical aspect: we see Ingmar Bergman´s life and how he made his films through his own eyes and described with his own words.

We want to understand why everything we think, everything we say, and everything we do matters. We don't want to just sit back and wait for something to happen or someday to come. We want to know if all the choices we make now will shape our world and lives for eternity. Because we want our lives to have meaning today, and our lives today to have meaning forever.
