On Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 Barbara and her band performed a special sold-out, one-off concert for fans at the Spilsby Theatre in Lincolnshire. The concert was recorded and the evening is presented here in its entirety as ‘Into the Light,’ Barbara’s first ever live DVD release. The DVD features all eighteen songs, mixing hits such as ‘Caravans,’ ‘I Know Him So Well’ and ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’ with favourites from her theatre work including ‘Easy Terms’ from the musical ‘Blood Brothers’ and ‘In The Bleak Midwinter/Here Comes The Sun’ from Willy Russell’s ‘John Paul George Ringo… & Bert’. Also included are ‘Love Hurts’ from ‘Band of Gold’, Gerry Rafferty’s ‘The Right Moment’ and Bob Dylan’s ‘Don’t Think Twice It’s All Right’ and ‘The Time They Are A-Changin'’. Barbara is joined on stage by her band - Pete Zorn, Troy Donockley, Brad Lang and Nick Holland.

Sreyra, Ponler, and Sreyven are three young garment workers in Cambodia. Day after day, they produce clothes for the most important global brands, until something exceptional disrupts their routine: suddenly they pass out in the workplace, an event that is followed by their colleagues fainting en masse. Episodes of mass fainting like these are not uncommon in Cambodia, where labour conditions remain harsh. According to trade unionists and government officials, this is caused by long work hours, high temperatures, and malnutrition. However, workers tell a different story: what happened to them is caused by spirits (Boramey), angered by the lack of respect shown by the factory owners. Starting from this enigmatic background, Boramey: Ghosts in the Factory offers insight into the lives of Cambodian garment workers at the intersection of work, religion, family, and spirituality.

Special emphasis is given to the challenges faced by newly urban Mexican Americans - rural farm workers who moved into cities where they could not compete for jobs, resulting in a large population confronted with a high poverty rate and its accompanying complications - poor education, substandard housing, and inadequate health care.
