Nathaniel (17 years old) was just abandoned by his long-time imaginary friend, Amélie. At the Board of Imaginary Support, Nathaniel is being convinced that he is now too old for an imaginary friend but the teenager is afraid of being alone. He is therefore assigned Bertrand, an old-timer with unorthodox methods. But the new duo combined with Nathaniel's obsession for Amélie will create a chain of risks that might just head right to a catastrophe...

This field trip seemed to be a good idea... Five days away from school, away from parents, in an organic farm, in order to enjoy the fresh air and initiate to ecology... But, in fact, everyone was a bit worried. Toto's parents, leaving their son for the first time ; Toto's teacher, at the idea of watching after him 24 hours a day ; and Toto himself, without the possibility of driving his parents nuts, without the neighbour's cat to torment, far away from the schoolyard... he was afraid to feel like time was dragging.

The film is set in early 11th century China during the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty. The emperor neglects state affairs and indulges in personal pleasures, while the government sinks into corruption and war continues to rage on at the borders of the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty is being invaded by the armies of the rival state of Western Xia. Yang Zongbao is the last man standing in the Yang clan, a family of generals who have dedicated their lives to defending the Song Dynasty from foreign invaders. He apparently dies in battle tragically when the treacherous Imperial Tutor Pang refuses to send reinforcements to aid him. Yang Zongbao's widowed wife Mu Guiying leads the other widows of the Yang clan into battle to continue the legacy of their husbands.

Ran Shu grew up in an orphanage, and her beloved sister Gu Ru Yue, made Ran Shu handicapped in order to be adopted by rich people. Later, Ran Shu married photographer Zhang Ze Yi, not knowing he's abusive and use domestic violence to make her obedient. Ran Shu wanted to escape from Ze Yi's clutches, but she fell deeper and deeper, until her sister Gu Ru Yue came to seduce her husband. Ran Shu sees the whole situation, a chance to escape from her cage, and starts plotting, using her sister and husband affair, to her own advantage.

At the heart of an imaginary world populated by fantastical creatures and dangerous monsters, the 13 year-old Zak goes in search of his twin brother Kyle, who has disappeared mysteriously. Equipped with a magical jade stone whose superpowers he doesn't yet know how to control, he is joined by his grandmother NaïNaï and Indiana, a beautiful outlaw who can communicate with the world's fantastical creatures. But he is also flanked by Wowo, formerly a 3 meter-tall furry pachyderm, now turned into a tiny, cute and wacky furball by the magical jade stone.
