Columbia's King of the Wild Horses is a remake of the silent Hal Roach western feature of the same name -- and with the same "star," Rex the Wonder Horse, in the lead. Most of the story involves the romantic triangle between rogue stallion Rex, the gorgeous mare Lady, and villainous black steed Marquis.

This MGM short film highlights the work of master make-up artist William Tuttle. As the head of MGM's make-up department, Bill Tuttle has been involved in many of MGM's best known productions. He shows how they make masks of actors' faces that allows them to work on make-up, particularly prostheses or appliances, without the actor having to spend hours in the make-up room.

Here is the test footage by the late, but great David Allen recreating the climax from the original King Kong (1933) at Cascade Pictures. This was made when there were rumours of a remake coming around the corner (mainly by Britain's Hammer Films). David Allen would create and animate Kong again for the Imax film Special Effects: Anything Can Happen (1996).
