Five young men from well-off families, whom fate never intended to be partisans in an occupied Paris, so different from one other and yet so close, reject the French defeat and resulting German occupation and decide to take on Nazi Germany.

The film is about the life story of Fatma, a poor girl who lost her family in an accident, when she comes to Istanbul. Fatma comes to Istanbul from Tehran after the death of her family. His goal is to find his uncle here and inherit his father's inheritance from him. Although Fatma finds her uncle, she cannot inherit her father and is forced to work as a maid in this house. His uncle's son Ali and Fatma fall in love with each other and decide to get married. Ali's family sends him to their factory in Iran to prevent this marriage. He also kicks Fatma out of the house.

In the mid-1950s Henan countryside, communist youth league member Xian Yue responds to the call of the county committee, signing up to participate in the youth commando team, as do the little sisters. Laoxin Yue and other elders firmly oppose the women going up the mountain, think it it is nonsense, unlucky and so on. In response to the feudal remnants of the discussion, Xian Yue does not compromise, carrying out a face-to-face struggle and eventually leading the commando members up the mountain.

Sunder Nagri is the story of two families struggling to make sense of a world, which keeps pushing them to the margins. The film is set in Sunder Nagri (Beautiful City) which is a small working class colony on the margins of India’s capital city, Delhi.

Though the personalities of the two artists are as different as night and day, Langjahr discovered one thing that connects them: their expression of and fascination with imagery.
