Apparitions

Apparitions is a BBC drama about Father Jacob Myers, a priest of the Roman Catholic Church, played by Martin Shaw, who examines evidence of miracles to be used in canonisation but also performs exorcisms. As he learns, Jacob's duties run deeper than just sending demons back to Hell; he later must prevent them all from escaping. Unlike most portrayals of exorcism and spirit possession in fiction, Apparitions is more religiously accurate and fact-based, incorporating the nature of demonic possession as described by the Church. It also recounts historical events associated with Christianity and other Abrahamic religions, which may have been caused by Heaven or Hell, indicating that the War described in the Bible may not have fully concluded. The series is written by Joe Ahearne.

"Apariciones" is a cinematographic essay on the question of what are apparitions, or what might they be. It’s a filmed documentation of the verbs “to appear” and “to disappear”. This film challenges itself by trying to make visible und perceptible these unseizable and sometimes invisible subjects. Apariciones is a collage-shortfilm, an associative definition, a visual thinking process, a physics of illusions. This short film uses a variety of different mechanical, chemical and digital techniques. It was partially filmed with quite "normal" film cameras such as the Bolex and ARRI Alexa. However, in the animation scenes several different photo cameras were used: a Canon 50D for instance, which was fitted with a self-made telephoto lens made of cardboard; a cardboard pinhole camera; a large-format Sinar camera 4x5 inches and a small-format reflex cameras Nikon FM and Canon 5D.

With only nightmares for childhood memories, Lily Stone returns to her family home to find out what happened to her parents. Despite the locals' warnings about an evil presence cursing the house, Lily crosses the threshold and discovers not all the ghosts that haunt us are dead.

Black and white Super 8 footage is combined with HD images of black and white photographs held in close up reflection, as thoughts and responses to these images are spoken live to the camera. The images are indices of disappearance as are the audio fragments of cinema films (La Dolce Vita 1960 and The Gospel According to St. Matthew 1964) from the same time as the photographs were taken.

A writer becomes the main character in the story he intended to write

An OL returns to her hometown with three colleagues to visit the onsen her family runs. Unfortunately the onsen has been overrun with mischievous youkai who have driven away all the customers!
