Shows a bedroom in a hotel. On the wall of the room is a conspicuous sign "Don't blow out the gas." A hayseed enters the room, accompanied by a bellboy. The boy deposits the Rube's bag and umbrella, turns a somersault, and vanishes through the door. The Rube then removes his hat and coat and places them upon the table. They immediately vanish. He then blows out the gas. The scene then instantly changes to a funeral procession, headed by Reuben's hearse, and followed by the carriages of his country friends. Strictly up-to-date picture. A female narrator (fellow artist Kathi Hofer) gives voice to this film, making it a reflection on the filmmaker’s life and journey through Europe (which began in the summer of 2019, before COVID-19). Spaces of association unfold, a train of thoughts. The boundaries between factual and memory blur. How much of personal history can be read more globally? Visual portraits of Europe’s remote places away from the typical tourist hotspots set the stage for this film. Landscapes in flux, images of movement that visually evoke long journeys on trains, ferries and public transportation. The underlying sound compositions by Dutch musician Machinefabriek evoke isolation and alienation, yet are conciliatory and warm.

With the following motivation: Every brick in the great wall of China was carried up by a man. More than 800,000 men, for more than 20 years. As we follow the reconstruction of a very small part of that old wall, we feel the dimension and Sisyphean effort carried out almost 2000 years ago. At the same time, this small part of the wall portrays the different social classes and transformations of modern China. A society that moves from the collective ideals to the personal capitalist aspirations of individuals.

In a Lisbon favela, residents actively participate in decisions in the place where they live and a research team monitors the process of inclusion in society. The absence of a decent housing policy, in response to the needs of the lower-income population, resulted in unofficial housing. Residents are unemployed or have extremely precarious working conditions. What they earn is not enough to rent a house and cover basic expenses such as food, water, electricity, gas and transportation. In this context of social injustice that also turns into spatial injustice, we currently have around 42 families, a few hundred people, women, children, men, elderly people, people with disabilities and some with serious health problems. They live in a neighborhood without minimum hygiene conditions, with precarious housing, without sewage,
