"A motion picture composed of brief diaristic scenes not used in completed films from the years 1960-2000; and self-referential video footage taped during the editing. Brief glimpses of family, friends, girl-friends, the City, seasons of the year, travels. Occasionally I talk, reminisce, or play music I taped during those earlier years, plus more recent piano improvisations by Auguste Varkalis. It's a kind of autobiographical, diaristic poem, celebration of happiness and life. I consider myself a happy man." - Jonas Mekas

Neither the gates of hell nor the gates of Islam can withstand the work of our Risen King! From mega-cities in Arabia to refugee camps left in the wake of ISIS terror, The Fourth Man goes beyond the headlines to showcase the Gospel’s power to save, the mercy and love of believers, and their abiding joy as Christ walks through the fires of persecution with them.

In 2001, during the first edition of the New Horizons Festival (held in the town of Sanok), we showed five Jonas Mekas films. A few months later, while in New York, I went unannounced to the Anthology Film Archives and met Mekas there. I was 29 years old and carrying a small video camera, which was on all the time, also during our conversation in a nearby café where Mekas liked to go. Twenty years later, I came across that recording on a mini DV cassette and edited it a little, using some fragments from Mekas’ movies. The result was a raw record of the moments that I wanted to remember. Jakub Duszyński
