An original metaphor of life visualized by the short lifetime of water droplets, surviving as long as they can, until they are exposed by their toughest natural enemy.

The story of one summer of several high school students from an average school of an average town in the heart of Russia. The heroes of the film are classmates of the very girls whose double suicide - a jump from the roof of a high-rise building - shocked the country a couple of years ago and provoked a wave of teenage suicides. Who are they? Which ones? Do you need someone other than yourself? What do we know about their loneliness? And what, in fact, lies behind the statistics of teenage suicides, according to which Russia ranks first in Europe. Six stories that happened in one summer: a house, a dacha, a camp and another amazing place that influenced the life of one of them. Who will be on the edge of that very roof, and who will decide never to climb it again? Why? Starting this movie, none of the crew knew how it would end. Part of the video footage was shot by the heroes of the film themselves.

A particular shot, made with a lens that breaks up the image field into fragments and reproduces the optics of a fly, explores a room where there is a girl with a guitar. The shot, back to normal, shows a container with the fly and a jar of honey. The girl than performs various actions: she plays the guitar, collects honey from the jar with a finger, reads a book while the buzzing becomes insistent. In this way, an ambiguous and unusual relationship with the insect arises.

For thousands of centuries and in different cultures, flying fish have been understood as symbols of searching, freedom, and achievement. They are unique animals that swim and fly, that delve deep into the waters and pass through the air, reflecting the possibility of hope. Their transit has been understood as an observational journey through nature, but little by little the impact of human beings and technology is increasing, transforming and altering the environment…

This work builds on a series which uses the form of online video tutorials to explore ideas around patterns in nature and existence. Each of them begins with Blandy giving a step-by-step tutorial explaining how to make a short video about a specific subject, only using the tools available via a computer – through the Internet and video editing software to video games.

This short film using animated puppets to show a fly trying to escape a spider is a little masterpiece. The technique is quite surprising, and the fly's tricks reminds quite closely many later animated films.
