Guan Yu, legendary general of Three Kingdoms, invented new weapon - guandao halberd. His own guandao called "Green Dragon Crescent Blade" weighed 48 kg and was deadly menace for any enemy. During Lu Meng's invasion of Jing Province, the mighty Guan Yu was slain by Pan Zhang of Wu, and his famous weapon was snatched away. Guan Xing, Guan Yu's son, managed to survive the battle and he wants to avenge his father. He trains with all his might in order to retrieve father's blade. Two years later, Liu Bei intends to attack Wu. He assigned Guan Xing to be the leader of a small team, comprising of young generals. Their mission is to destroy Wu's water dam. As Guan Xing throws himself into danger, he realised that Wu had discovered their plot, turning the odds into their favour. In the end, Guan Xing encounters Pan Zhang, the killer of his father, and they begin to fight at the water dam. So, who will get the Green Dragon Crescent Blade in the end?

Chushingura has been made into a movie several times before, but this time it will be presented in a widescreen version with all natural colors and a new look. Written by Masato Ide and directed by Tatsuo Osone. This is a magnificent scroll of images that depicts on a grand scale the triumph of the Genroku era that shook the citizens of Edo, the peaceful capital of Japan. The top stars of the film, shinpa, shingeki, and kabuki worlds at the time of production were lavishly cast, and a huge budget was invested to create a large set for this highly acclaimed and moving epic.

The Valour and the Horror was a Canadian television documentary miniseries, which aired on CBC Television in 1992. It was a co-production between the CBC, the National Film Board of Canada and Galafilm Inc. The films were also broadcast by Radio-Canada, the French network of the CBC. The films were directed by Brian McKenna, an award winning journalist and founding producer of the fifth estate. The films were written by Brian and his brother, Terence McKenna. The series investigated three significant Canadian battles from World War II.

A documentary, using dramatization of fact, that examines the Battle of Verrières Ridge, where on July 25, 1944 and not long after D-Day, an inexperienced battalion of the Canadian Black Watch Regiment launched a doomed attack and was defeated with heavy casualties by veteran German SS troops. The C Force, consisting of about 2000 soldiers from the Winnipeg Grenadiers and the Royal Rifles of Canada (from Quebec City) were, with the other British, Indian and Hong Kong troops, attacked on December 8, 1941 and overwhelmed by Japanese troops, leading to numerous casualties and the surrender on Christmas day.
