The Secret City Advent

City Hunter, the globally adored hero, becomes embroiled in an adventure that takes him deep into the political intrigue of a Third World country and into the pain and anguish of one man's tortured past. James McGuire's life is so dangerous he has to hire bodyguards for his Secret Service agents. It doesn't help that his chief agent is actually his long-lost daughter. Luckily for him, City Hunter and Kaori are behind on the rent and need the work. But a dark secret from McGuire's past threatens to destroy him and his lonely daughter Anna. Due to a childhood head injury, the investigator of the IC Alexey Platov is unable to feel feelings. He grew up calm, reasonable and lonely. It would seem that this is an advantage in his work, but the lack of any emotions does not give him the opportunity to build normal relationships with colleagues and superiors. One day Platov goes to businessman Miller to get dirt on influential people of the city and his colleagues from the UK, but finds him in a pool of blood, who died an obviously violent death. One of the police officers who arrived on call turns out to be Lieutenant Polina Lavrova. From that moment on, she, along with the emotionless Platov, begins to fight corruption in the local IC and the police.

On the highway at the entrance to a small quiet town, the body of a teenager Alik is found. Not far away in a ravine – the car of a stranger Shatsky, who was traveling from Moscow. The initial version of the accident is dismissed when water is found in the lungs of the deceased. If he was killed, then who? The young investigator Anna suspects an outsider, her boss Mikhail Sergeyevich believes that the killer is someone from his own. During the investigation, to which Shatsky joins, wanting to justify himself, it turns out that many in this town had motives for murder.

The film is a metaphor for the Cold War. It depicts two neighbouring nations: peace loving Fortuna and the not so peaceful land of the Steel City.

For the next two decades, Mallinckrodt continued its classified work for the Atomic Energy Commission during the Cold War. The resulting radioactive waste contaminated numerous locations in the St. Louis area some of which have not been cleaned up 70 years after the end of World War II. Told through the eyes of an overexposed worker, the story expands through a series of interviews that careen down a toxic pathway leading to a fiery terminus at a smoldering, radioactively-contaminated landfill. The First Secret City reveals a forgotten history and its continuing impact on the community in the 21st Century, uncovering past wrongdoing and documenting the renewed struggles to confront the issue.

The Secret City Adventures was a series of television programs designed to teach children how to draw. The series was produced by Maryland Public Television and aired on PBS and TVOntario in the late 1980s. The series starred Mark Kistler as Commander Mark who led viewers through various drawing exercises and examples. The show also featured other characters, including Moonbot, Unibear, Pigasus, Furbles, Violet the Dragon, and others. Occasionally, guest artists would appear on the show to demonstrate other art forms.
