The rabbit girl Freya is trying to make everyone happy, with the Sylvanian village's annual star festival serving as the backdrop.

In pre-colonial times a peddler crossing the savanna discovers a child lying unconscious in the bush. When the boy comes to, he is mute and cannot explain who he is. The peddler leaves him with a family in the nearest village. After a search for his parents, the family adopts him, giving him the name Wend Kuuni (God's Gift) and a loving sister with whom he bonds. Wend Kuuni regains his speech only after witnessing a tragic event that prompts him to reveal his own painful history.

Tae-ju, a murderer serving a life sentence in prison, is given a temporary release to save the life of a seriously ill young girl, Se-hee, who suffers from Wilson's disease and desperately needs a liver transplant. Se-hee is the daughter of Yeong-woo, and old friend of Tae-ju's who is now a police officer. Upon discovering that Se-hee's now deceased mother was his ex-girlfriend, Tae-ju realises that he is in fact her biological father, and does everything he can to try and save her life.

There is a magical land called Cozy Land where live the cute Bunny, the smart Cro, the cheery Elo, the friendly Annie, the sleepyhead Oliver, and the kindhearted dragon Dibo who has special ability to make a gift that is always the perfect solution.

Etsuko works as a hostess at a topless bar and Hayato is a former bar hustler who got her the gig, and they're shacked up in a cheap apartment in an obscure corner of Okinawa. Hayato aims to get rich quick breeding designer dogs as his ticket out of the dead-end after-hours world.
