The Battle for the Premier League examines such an era through the often conflicting sides of the story, from Mourinho to Redknapp lives at the top often contrasted to lives at the bottom with teams like Leeds United and Southampton desperately trying to stay afloat in a world they can barely afford to inhabit.

The Pitch from 1998 lasts about five minutes – the entire length of a single 35mm spool, its only movement that of a camera zooming out; in it, we see Lewis himself in the middle of the picture read a text in which he tells the story of the ‘extras’, those unnamed armies of so-called supernumeraries without whom thousands of films would appear desperately empty. As the camera zooms out, Lewis himself is reduced to an extra among extras.

Exposing the agony of the creative pitching process, we hear a director and agency try to one up each other on a call as the commercial plays out.

As the COVID-19 pandemic ravages theatres around the world, a motley trio of theatre companies – Pangdemonium, Singapore Repertory Theatre and WILD RICE – band together to create an urgent project that’s pitch-perfect for our times. But will their noble mission survive cash-flow problems, creative differences and clashing egos? Can they keep the drama off-stage? And do they know what the hell they are doing?
