Lucky Luke

Lucky Luke, with his horse Double Six, travels the Old West to right wrongs and bring evildoers (usually his traditional enemies the Dalton Brothers) to justice. "The man who shoots faster than his shadow."

The cowboy who draws a gun faster than his shadow is back! Lucky Luke, the famous wandering cowboy fights crime and injustice, most often in the form of the bumbling Dalton brothers. He rides Jolly Jumper, "the smartest horse in the world" and is often accompanied by Rantanplan, "the stupidest dog in the universe".

Lucky Luke is the sheriff of a merry and unruly frontier settlement. Jolly Jumper is not only Lucky’s trusty horse, but also the brains of Daisy Town. The four Dalton Brothers are the sworn enemies of Lucky Luke, who is constantly trying to thwart their devilish plans and their spectacularly clumsy escapes from the Daisy Town Jail. This fractious band finds itself caught up in a series of misadventures, crossing paths with hordes of wacky friends and fiendish enemies.

Fearless gunslinger, Lucky Luke, is ordered by the President to bring peace to Daisy Town.

The story opens in a Western saloon, where a young musician with a banjo begins to tell a tale of Lucky Luke and his sworn enemies the Dalton brothers: Joe, William, Jack and Averell. Luke has, once again, as he has done many times before, thrown the four outlaws into jail. The prison is also the abode of a guard dog named Rin Tin Can (Rantanplan in the original French language version).

Lucky Luke becomes the Sheriff of Daisy Town and runs out all the criminals. Then the Dalton brothers arrive and try to get the Indians to break the peace treaty and attack the town.

Relentless sheriffs, trigger-happy gunslingers, steadfast saloon owners and cocky cowboys are all found in the "Lucky Luke" albums, which have influenced entire generations of comic readers. For the three-part series "In the footsteps of Lucky Luke", the French comic author Jul traveled to the USA to trace the role models of the familiar comic characters.

The cowboy Lucky Luke tracks the Dalton brothers who escaped from prison and are seeking refuge in Canada.

The Daltons have escaped to New York, where their accumulated loot is hidden in the carts of Monsieur Pierre's group of honest, naive European immigrants, who naively bought land in California from Crook, who inserted a clause they must claim it within 80 days. Joe emotionally blackmails Luke to guide them there, hoping to escape on the way. The usual route must shortened from 6 to 2 months, so no danger can be avoided. Given Lucky's reputation, Crook decides to shadow them to add sabotage, just to be sure- or is it?

Lucky Luke must help Louise find her mother, who mysteriously disappeared, while foiling a plot that could change the course of American history.
