September 26, 2018 would have turned 60 years old Ilya Kormiltsev - an outstanding poet, brilliant translator, prose writer, essayist, literary and musical critic, a multifaceted publisher, a person of the broadest culture - a personality not just bright and large, but legendary in his own way. Ilya Kormiltsev (1959-2007) is widely known as the main lyricist of the Sverdlovsk rock group Nautilus Pompilius. After his early death in the UK at the age of 47, several memoir documentaries were made about him. And now - fortunately, he predicted a lot - the first results of his life and cultural contribution are being summed up in the most unexpected directions. The authors of the picture will try to find a worldview vector that united these so different occupations, but which became the fate of our wonderful contemporary and compatriot.
Leon Trotsky is considered one of the most controversial revolutionary figures of his time. Was he a practical revolutionary or a naive idealist? On the practical side, he was the mastermind behind the Bolshevik seizure of power in 1917, and was totally ruthless during the ensuing Civil War. As an idealist, he was committed to the pursuit of international revolution, but created many political enemies. After Lenin's death, Trotsky lost in a power struggle with Stalin, and later was expelled from the Communist Party. Trotsky was exiled from the Soviet Union, eventually finding refuge in Mexico. In 1940, Stalin ordered his assassination, and Trotsky died after being struck in the head with an ice-pick. History records that Trotsky was a master theoretician, a skillful propagandist and a brilliant orator.
The Top 100 Historical Persons, aired on Nippon Television on May 7, 2006. The program featured the results of a survey that asked Japanese people to choose their favorite great person from history. The show featured several re-enactments of scenes from the lives of the people on the list.
The survey asked Japanese people to name their most-liked historical figures, not the most influential. The selection was not restricted to Japanese people, and only about two thirds of the names are Japanese, mostly important Japanese historical figures, such as samurai, prime ministers, war leaders, authors, poets. and popular Meiji restoration figures.
The program was followed up with a women-only Top-100 list which aired September 23, 2006. and History’s 100 Most Influential People: Hero Edition which aired in March 2007.

Video installation, 2004, in Kunsthalle Lophem, curator Roland Patteeuw. Film sequences of one and the same woman are projected next to each other on different screens. 9 characters with, apparently, their own stories without beginning or end. A woman dissociates into 9 personalities but only one at the time can manifest itself in front of the camera. It is as if one of the characters temporarily borrows the space in the woman, in order to become image. Without any formal directions imposed upon her, the woman sculptures herself nine times from within herself. Unbearably fragile and incompatible with the will of our ego. So the origin of the work can be situated in a grey area of reality where thinking, feeling and observing have fallen apart irreversibly and now try to come closer to each other again.

Another cutting-edge visual experiment from British artist John Maybury, Premonitions Of Absurd Perversion In Sexual Personae, Part 1 serves up a video tribute to the male body, a steamy Kenneth Anger for the video age. Pieced together from a ten year stockpile of evocative, personal images, Maybury’s tape uses multi-form mixing techniques in a typically freeform exploration of the polymorphous field of desire and sexuality.
