In the distant future, mankind has lived quietly and restlessly underground for hundreds of years, subject to earthquakes and cave-ins. Living in one such village are 2 young men: one named Simon who is shy and naïve, and the other named Kamina who believes in the existence of a “surface” world above their heads.

Na-Yeon is a bright woman. She supports her boyfriend Tae-Joon, who is from a poor background, and has even given up entering a university. But Tae-Joon dumps her for his success and goes with Se-Jin, who is a granddaughter of Baekdoo Company president. Do-Hee is Na-Yeon’s twin sister. She is arrogant and tough. Do-Hee works as a reporter at a weekly magazine. After Na-Yeon’s death, Do-Hee decides to take revenge. She takes on the identity of her sister Na-Yeon. Do-Hee then meets Hwi-Kyung, who is successor of Baekdoo Company.

All having a hand in the various torture methods that would grant the creature temporary immortality

The Moroccan desert is famous for its recurring meteorite falls. Fragments from Heaven tells the story of Mohamed, a nomad who lives with his family in a tent in a remote area of the desert. In order to change his family’s hard living conditions, he decides to go in search of meteorites. It is the story of Abderrahmane as well, a scientist who relies on this meteor debris to pursue his research on the origins of the Earth and life. Both of them, don’t imagine that this quest will take them far beyond simple hunting. Behind those objects, lie the fragments of human complexity.

This film captures the poignancy of a native people undergoing cultural change. When Susan Cornwell first encountered the Bedamini in Papua, New Guinea in 1971, they were aggressive and practiced cannibalism as part of their religion. She was able to befriend them and make a landmark film, Tidikawa and Friends. Now, on her return, she finds a people in Western dress, wearing T-shirts instead of nose bones. Many have been converted to Christianity. They perform their tribal dances for money, and use calculators to determine the charges. Susan shows them the old film and they respond with excitement to images of their former selves. The skillful intercutting of old and new footage dramatizes the effects of westernization on an indigenous people.
