Love is the Word is a moving, romantic and funny coming-of-age drama about the magic of first love and the misery of first lost, set in 1978: the year 'Grease' hit the big screen.

At the annual Jinmen Reminiscence Fair, the Joker uses magic to steal the golden silk coat. The three major families of jugglers in Jinmen: the Tang Clan, who are known for their speed and expertise in blindfolds, the Li Clan, who make juggling machines and props, and the Qi Clan, who are good at breaking all kinds of illusions.

Upon his discharge following the Korean War, soldier Jerry moves back to the small town in South Carolina where he grew up. Jerry is reunited with his old flame Leslie, gets a job as an insurance salesman and begins to heal from the emotional damage caused by the war. But Jerry faces a serious moral dilemma when the job he depends on for his livelihood leads him to take advantage of an elderly African-American woman and the members of her community.

The first Taiwanese-language spy film produced in Taiwan, The Best Secret Agent is a remake of the 1945 movie of the same name that caused a sensation in Shanghai.
