Contrary to popular myth, butch lesbians are not trying to be feminine and failing. They are not going through a rebellious stage or imitating men. They are women who, while being true to their most authentic selves, look and behave in some ways that society has decided is appropriate only for males. While lesbians and gay men are enjoying more acceptance from society in general, this tolerance is often limited to those individuals who seem most like their heterosexual counterparts: feminine women and masculine men. The women in this film examine and challenge society's assumptions about gender roles and show the courage it takes to be true to oneself. Their struggles reveal how everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, is pressured to conform and measure up to restrictive gender standards.

Over the past year or so [2009], the directorial duo FRED&NICK have accompanied Mumford & Sons on their various tours to capture through a lens the experiences of the band on the road. You may well have seen these videos before, but perhaps not yet in their full length form. Part I delves a little further into the roots and beginnings of the band and how, through various instruments, shared music tastes, friendships, and circumstances, Mumford & Sons came into being. Whilst Part II takes us through the landscapes and contrasting musical spheres of the India and US tours…and also the fondly remembered/vaguely infamous ‘Tasche tour.
At the end of March 2011, Bill Nelson and the Gentlemen Rocketeers, along with one hundred plus guests, populated Studio A at Metropolis, West London, for a dynamite concert reminiscent of the Marquee club in its heyday. A blistering fourteen song set from the band, which covers much of Bill’s career to date, was the result. We’re delighted to present that set here, together with an interview with Bill and a sublime four track solo set. Wielding an array of gorgeous-looking guitars, Bill and his cohorts treated those present to a fantastic show, notable particularly for the fact that they performed a number of rarely heard Bebop Deluxe numbers - classics such as Night Creatures, Maid In Heaven, Adventures In A Yorkshire Landscape and Ships In the Night.
