This narrative delves into the psyche of a woman, traversing her emotional journey as she seeks liberation through a ritual unfolding in the courtyard of her in-laws’ house. As a menstruating woman, societal norms confine Vasuki to the bedroom. However, the enchanting music of the ritual acts as a compelling force, urging her to defy these constraints, break out of her confined space, and immerse herself in the ritual unfolding outside.

Against a background of powerful alpine vistas and modern city landscapes, "heimatklänge" enters the wondrous sonic world of three exceptional Swiss vocal artists. Their universe of sound extends far beyond what we would describe as singing. In their engagement with local and foreign traditions, the powerful mountain landscape becomes a stage as do the landscapes and sonic backdrops of modern life.

Made by film students, the short film is a tribute and authorial reinterpretation inspired by old Pink Floyd music videos as a psychedelic trip. Using overhead projectors to capture a liquid light show, the narrative is stitched together from a retro photograph, bringing a bit of 60s psychedelia with an air of nostalgia. With the combination of two of the band's songs ("Echoes" and "Astronomy Domine"), the music video brings the concept of the realism and ludic, of the present moment and insanity. Composed of characters who are part of a fictional band and travel through the delight of a mind that lives in the past while resting in reality.
