Basque Country, Spain, 1843. A police constable arrives at a small village in Álava to investigate a mysterious blacksmith who lives alone deep in the woods.

Music producer and composer Ha Rib made a contract with the devil to trade his soul for fame. This devilish transaction brought him all the fame he could ask for, producing many hit songs. As the contract expiration draws near, he bargains with the devil for an extension. For that, he must find another person to sell the soul. The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils is an upcoming Chinese television series adapted from Louis Cha's novel Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. It is produced by the companies Zhejiang Hua Ce Media and Dong Yang Da Qian Media, and directed by Hong Kong television series director Lai Shui-ching. Filming started on 10 November 2012 and the series is expected to be released in 2013.
