Riitta and Catherine live together in Uganda. By day the two sixtysomethings provide sexual health and equality education for Catholics, Muslims and Anglicans alike. By night they smoke, do crosswords and don’t shy away from frank discussions. Riitta's long career empowering women in Africa is coming to a close, but Ugandan government is trying their best to shut down their sex-ed program during her last months in Africa.

Two little girls live in a mountain village. One tells the other she heard that children are dying of hunger in Africa. With their childish imagination and desire to help they take off very early in the morning to take on an exciting adventure.

Danie Bosman is a civil servant dreaming of being a composer. But this is Depression-era South Africa and no one is interested in buying his music. Then, one day, someone hears a song he composed for his son.

In this three part documentary we look at all topics South Africa has to offer. THE BIG FIVE focuses on the kings of animals, lion, rhinoceros, elephant, leopard and the African buffalo. Armed with 3D cameras, we visited the Kings of the savannah and the jungle, where we sensed the fascination that emanates from the largest animals in the wild. In SAFARI we look behind the scenes of a park and found out what it means to pursue eco-tourism and just what the opportunities and the risks are. Finally, we discover the WEST CAPE region and its unique flora and fauna, swim with whales and sea lions, follow penguins and – as a highlight – we meet the white sharks. Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, April 2011. Jacques and Safi arrive from Abidjan, from where they've been repatriated in an emergency. He's as tough as nails, after too much time in the African sun and enjoying an expatriate lifestyle while running a hotel. Safi, his fourteen-year-old daughter, is used to living with her mother and doesn't know what to think about her loud-mouthed and useless father who has suddenly taken her away with him. Moved to a hostel in Nice, they learn to get to know each other, to be able to look each in the eye, perhaps to love each other. But there's also Gloria, Safi's mother, left behind in the upheaval of Abidjan, and impossible to contact...

A policeman from Africa takes over the task of arresting a gang consisting of women specialized in drug smuggling and murder. He disguises himself as a businessman and gets to know one of the gang members.

1960. The USSR starts humanitarian aid programs based on Marxist ideology in several newly independent African countries. For more than 35 years the Soviets expand their influence in Africa. Soviet filmmakers are sent along to document the glorious advance of socialism on the entire continent. After the fall of the Soviet empire Russia lost political interest in Africa, but thousands of kilometers of footage shot on African soil remain. With the help of filmmakers from back then, OUR AFRICA will recreate the time of the “Great Utopia” and expose the mechanisms behind the creation of propaganda films.

Zhomart and Aisulu are newlyweds, they go on a honeymoon in Kazakh, that is, together with relatives. Aisulu strives to have a good time, but the inexorable desire to earn extra money every now and then forces Zhomart's relatives to form new and new business ideas. Jomart ignores “brilliant” ideas until he meets a mysterious Kenyan businessman who offers to make money on tea purchases.

These women will explain how they think they are working to save the continent, which must resolutely embrace integration into the world economy because the years of totalitarian male rule in Africa have been catastrophic. A film that will make us understand that the future of Africa belongs to women.

The film shows the genesis of the Swiss Tropical Institute under the direction of Rudolf Geigy. From his employees and students he was partly admired, partly feared. His moods and outbursts were legendary. As a wealthy industrialist, he was able to afford virtually everything and generously invested in the establishment of the Tropical Institute, but also made considerable development aid in Africa.
