Conversation brings and changes the memory. Sometimes, it is a procedure that concludes upon certain memory. In this context, the way of conversation becomes methodology and theme at the same time. The process of conversation keeps repeating, and it is performed the way of conversation by using traces made during the repeating process, such as film, sound, and motion of choreographer. Conversations On Serious Topics is a film without exterior action, props, landscapes or special effects. Its main characters are children and teenagers with a special ability to describe the surrounding world. Intimate conversations with them reveal the picture of the modern world -- at times melancholic, at times comical, at times dramatic. Shot in a minimalist fashion, the film raises questions about loneliness, love, God, the world and human relations. "The world is people." "Don't you believe in God? I can teach you how to start believing..."
A fictional telephone conversation between the filmmaker and his mother on her birthday. A performative reflection on the relationship between public and private spheres in which the maker turns his back to the camera, simultaneously shielding himself, and engages the viewer in the (im)possibility of bridging the gap between the man and his mother. Capturing the intimate conversation seems to be a way of keeping a personal memory alive while it merges with the viewer’s memory.
Today in the 21st century, "singing" is no longer just a purely musical act. It can represent the pulse of society and put contemporary ideas into practice. To raise awareness about energy issues, we adopted a documentary-style cinematic approach to follow musicians recording an album close to nature. Eleven Meinong Conversations invites music producer and singer-songwriter Wing Lo to return to his sunny hometown of Meinong, a historic Hakka settlement in Taiwan, and fulfil a ten-year musical dream. Lo transforms a solar-powered wooden guest house into a recording studio to record his dream album in his Hakka mother tongue. The film conveys the passion of Lo’s Hakka music and his love of living life close to nature. Through eleven seemingly daily conversations with different characters, Lo’s pure and carefree rural childhood, his nostalgia of leaving home, and his loss of a beloved family member, are transformed into timeless, radiant melodies that touch the heart.
Derek Jarman discusses his film and visual art work in this experimental conversation film.
He is like a hired killer and a drug dealer. She seems to be making love for money. Coincidentally or not, but they met each other near the cafe. Then a hotel room, a walk around the city, a party and then another meeting, which, in fact, will determine whether they can be together. Only one thing is known about them: none of them have ever been to Paris.
The main character Andrei was abandoned by a girl, in the end he records her farewell video so that she remembers what happened to them.
Samvel Ginovyan talks about the difference between churches, the infantile nature of parents, Turkmenistan and dictators, family happiness, raising two sons, and much more.
A short experimental movie dealing with loneliness.
In his meetings with various different people, Jean-Luc Godard develops his thinking about history, politics, the cinema, images and time, and this will lead to his exhibition as an artist at the Pompidou Centre. Jean-Luc Godard’s conversations with Dominique Païni, Jean Narboni, André S. Labarthe, Jean-Marie Straub, Danielle Huillet and Christophe Kantcheff were filmed at his home in Rolle, in his study, at the Fresnoy National Studio for the Contemporary Arts (in front of students) and in the exhibition rooms of the Pompidou Centre.

In 1989, Heiner Müller staged an unabridged seven-and-a-half hour Hamlet, because in the process of German reunification "a leave-taking from the Hamlet principle in favor of the market economy" was taking place. In this interview, he elaborates on the parallels between the play and contemporary reality in terms of the plot and the characters (for example, Günter Schabowski as well as the problematic role of Fortinbras).
Conversation Between Nail and Socks
Grigory Pomerants and Zinaida Mirkina are wise men. The topics of their reflections are the need for loneliness, the fate of civilization, the meaning of suffering, and whether a clear conscience is possible.
This is a 45 minute interview with RWF in the kitchen in a house he had rented close to Paris at that time. Four years before his untimely death the interview shows a quite relaxed and patient Fassbinder who answers all kinds of (often contrafactual or at least uninformed) questions and reveals quite a lot about his childhood and current personal drama. Sober, chainsmoking but very lightheaded RWF.
