It becomes clear quickly that Ryosuke is unhappy with his marriage to Haruyo, who desperately tries to get them to reconnect. The narrative is about a woman who faces hard times, when her husband is arrested for a crime committed by his boss. The woman also has a child to look after, and they end up meeting several colorful personalities.

The story centers on a gangster living in the city and the woman who lives with him, the people they meet, and the incidents they become involved in. The entire film has a whiff of American New Cinema, while the outlaw-like protagonist played by Kazuhiro Sano is reminiscent of the chivalrous films of the past.
